Import markdown files

Notejoy makes it easy to import markdown files as notes in Notejoy, including formatting and images. Markdown is a popular rich-text format that is supported as an export format by a broad range of notes, documents, and wiki apps.

To import markdown files:

  • Select Import Notes from the user menu in the bottom-left corner of Notejoy
  • Select the target notebook for the import by clicking the notebook name in the header
  • Drag the markdown files into the Import Notes dialog or select Choose files to pick files to import
  • Alternatively, you can choose a folder to import, which will import all the markdown notes in that folder. The importer expects all the markdown notes to be individual files at the root level of the folder that you select. The importer will also import image and document references in the markdown file that are relative to the imported folder, including traversing sub-directories for those references.
